Potty Training Woes
Well I am taking a step into the unknown. We are going to try to potty train Wyatt. He will be three in December and I am tired tired tired of changing poopy diapers. On top of that, he can take his diaper off any time he wants, which he does frequently. Believe me, I hate this fact and often have to remind him that he has to keep it on. He did the funniest thing at the cabin on Sunday. We were in the river playing in the freezing water. When I finally had to pull him out because his toes were going purple, he came screaming. We had to change his diaper and you know how boys are. Well when I put the diaper on, he put his hand down there and looked at Grandma and said "It's big. It hurts." My mom and I cracked up. I figure when he starts to recognize things like this he is ready to pee and poo in the toilet. He sits on the toilet and pretends that he is going potty, but never does. HELP! We are going cold turkey, no diapers even at night. AHHHHH! Any suggestions would be appreciated. Wish me luck!!

Traci,
Now you can find me over and over again if you want!! We all need to get together, so if you find some time between lia sophia and work, let us know. Lately we have loved going swimming, because its free!! Let us know!!
HaHaHa...help with potty training!?! All I can say is that they will potty train when they are ready. When we were in Reno watching the Lucier boys for 11 days, Mikaela woke up and said, "Diapers are for babies and night night." And that was it...until Christopher showed her how to pee outside when she is playing. Now I can't get her to come inside to use the potty. Special princess underwear seemed to work for her too. She wears a pull-up to bed, but 75% of the time she wakes up dry! Good luck!
i made a simple chart (i even put a picture of him on the potty on it) and gave him a sticker every time he went, then for every 10 stickers he got a prize. after a few days, the peeing was down well, so we stopped giving stickers for that, but #2 takes a little longer! and... i threw away lot's of undies those first months, stock up and good luck :)
